Three editions: same powerful features

Whether you’re a student or a seasoned research professional there is a Stata edition designed to suit your needs.

Fastest and largest.

Stata/MP is the fastest edition of Stata and handles the largest number of variables (up to 120,000) and observations (up to 20 billion). On dual-core chips, Stata/MP runs 40% faster overall and 72% faster where it matters, on the time-consuming estimation commands. With more than two cores or processors, Stata/MP is even faster. Find out more about Stata/MP.

Fast and large.

Stata/SE can run on single-core or multi-core computers and it comes with the same powerful data management, graphics, statistics, and automated reporting features as Stata/MP. Stata/SE can analyze datasets with up to 10,998 independent variables, and up to 2 billion observations.

Fast but compact.

Stata/BE, like Stata/SE comes with the same powerful data management, graphics, statistics, and automated reporting features, but is intended for use with mid-sized datasets. Stata/BE allows datasets with as many as 2,048 independent variables and 2 billion observations.
